I was one time looking for a simple, reliable printer & did not need multiple functions (fax,scan,etc.) often included in plenty of printer feature packages. Whether HP Deskjet Printer will stand the check of time for reliability is a query yet to be answered. However, when I bought this model a few weeks ago, the availability of significant discounts coupled with a $50.00 trade-in offer from HP made this a actual value for me. Set up was simple, & using the custom set up allowed me to keep away from adding superfluous application.
Printing is fast & quality is fine. I like the color ink cartridges so I will only need to buy the color that I need. Automatic two-sided printing is a pleasant additional that I didn't seek but happily accept.
Yes, HP Deskjet Printer is a tiny noisy when printing, & initializing seems to take forever (but probably about a minute or so). I did must go to the HP net site to take a peek at the user manual to answer a couple of my operating questions, but I guess not including user manuals in the box saves lots of paper in the long run.
In summary, so far, so nice.

I bought this printer for my boss as replacement for a laser printer they had been having issues with for a year & a half now.
